Vision boards are a great way to tap into the law of attraction, get your ideas out of your head, and into reality. As creative and ambitious people, we often want to do all the things. However, I find that visualizing our ideas as images and words allows us to see when we’re doing too much, and what we should really commit to.
By using my vision board template that I’ve developed over 10 years as an entrepreneur and coach, you can craft a powerful tool that inspires you to take action and manifest your dreams. Whether you’re looking to set 2025 goals, explore vision board examples, or create an online vision board, this comprehensive guide and downloadable kit will provide you with everything you need to get started. Let’s go!
How to Make a Vision Board
Step 1: Set Your Goals
Before diving into the creative process, take a minute to reflect on the goals and dreams you want to achieve this year. This first step helps me to make my vision board with a clear mind. Try not to include more than 8 goals. Remember, you want to actually achieve these dreams and goals. If you overwhelm your subconscious mind with too many goals, you might feel disappointed, and finish the year on a sad note. Here are some ideas for categories that your goals can fall into:
- Experiences
- Money
- Connection
- Self Care
- Business
- Beauty
- Health
- Personal Growth
- Family
- Impact
Step 2: Gather Your Materials
For a physical vision board, you’ll need:
- Poster board (or bristol board)
- Magazines or printed images
- Scissors and glue
- Markers or pens
For a digital vision board, I love using Canva but you can use any design software you’re familiar with.
Step 3: Find Vision Board Images
Be sure to use images that match your vibe and your personality. A vision board only works if you actually believe it, so choose images that evoke strong feelings and connect you to your goals. You can use your own photos, something you saw online, or find free stock photos using sites like Canva, Pexels, Unsplash, Nappy, etc.
Step 4: Arrange Your Ideas
When you look at your vision board, what do you want to jump out at you the most? Make a note of this, and then list all the other items in order of priority. Rather than give each item equal space on your vision board, my suggestion is to let each item take up space, according to how important it feels to you in this moment. When you’re finished prioritising, loosely map out the space on your vision board for each section.
Step 5: Have Fun!
Now that all the planning is complete, here’s the fun part! Place all of your gorgeous photos in your desired sections. Feel free to include headings and quotes that encourage you to be your best self!
Once you’ve arranged your vision board, place it somewhere you’ll see it regularly. This could be on your bedroom wall, your office desk, or even as your phone or computer background if you opt for a digital vision board.

Bonus: Why I’m Not Making a Vision Board for 2025
As we explore the concept of vision boards, I want to share my personal decision for this year: I’m not making a vision board for 2025.
Every January, we get caught up in the excitement of setting big goals, but I’ve noticed that we often overestimate what we can achieve in a year. Life throws unexpected challenges our way, and many of us end the year feeling disappointed with what we didn’t accomplish.
This year, I’m embracing freedom over structure. Instead of a rigid plan, I’m choosing to remain open to new ideas and opportunities as they come. I believe this will lead to more authentic and fulfilling pursuits, allowing me to explore ventures that genuinely excite me.
As you think about your own plans for 2025, consider whether the traditional vision board approach feels right for you. It might be worth prioritising flexibility and spontaneity instead. Let’s make this year about exploration and creativity! What are your thoughts? How do you plan to make 2025 an amazing year?
